The Bear Hotel (map) is without doubt one of the most historic hotels here in England. It dates back as far as the early 13th Century, has been owned by King Henry VIII (and several of his wives) and visited by the victorious Queen Elizabeth I. It is also where the future William III met the Commissioners of James II in his bedchamber to receive the English Crown. But that’s all history now. These days things at The Bear Hotel are a little different - a lot different to be frank. We're bringing the Hotel into the 21st Century, retaining the old with a modern twist! Now owned by a group of private investors, the hotel is very individual/unique where nothing is too much trouble, all you need do is ask.
